This Academic Year 2019-2020 the Computing Curriculum coverage has been devised as the following in each year group.

 

Year 3

Computing Topics- E-Safety revisited every half term. Introduction to computing through using Typing & Mouse skills. Creating paint images using the Paint programmes and Inkscape (look at patterns linked to Hindu Festivals). Using the programme Scratch to design a Stone Age game. Using Logo to create Roman Mosaics (FMS Logo). Pupils will try to copy/repeat (outdoor algorithms). Following and using basic Coding programmes and using Passwords. In the last unit pupils will explore Filming by creating a Storyboard using Purple Mash and Film strips.

 

Year 4

Computing Topics- E-Safety revisited every half term. Using 2graph to compile data on countries population/ The Rugby World Cup results. Using Movie Maker to film and record the Haka in front of a green screen and edit the film. Using and creating Power Points on Rainforests to present information. Using O Generator to create their own sounds of Africa. Creating a web page on Ancient Egypt. Creating Islamic patterns and design through using Inkscape and Scratch. Using Beebots to complete Coding sequences and the Droid Dance.

 

Year 5

Computing Topics- E-Safety revisited every half term. Designing a space invaders game using scratch. Using inkscape and paint to create Mandala patterns. Using Sketch up to design a castle. Using Blogs to write about the Great Outdoors. Using O Generator to compose and create country and Western Music. Using Story Board on Purple Mash to write and film stories about Greek Myths.

 

Year 6

Computing Topics- E-Safety revisited every half term. Pupils will film and record using Sketch Up Using Microsoft Word to create document, creating algorithms. Using the Internet to safely research, using publisher to create posters and documents, using information from films. Using Excel to create spreadsheets and collating data, creating codes, testing the codes and debugging them to make changes. Using Scratch to consolidate learning (games/ patterns).
