Year 5 had a great half term learning about Japan and were busy doing so many exciting things. Some pupils have written down what they enjoyed most about the topic and we want to share their comments with you.
"The thing I enjoyed the most about our Japanese topic was the Literacy work on Kensuke's Kingdom because I loved listening to the story." Asmara Mahmoud
"My favourite part of the Japanese topic was when we made sushi. I also liked it when the Japanese school came to visit. Reading Kensuke's Kingdom was really fun. It was emotional at some points. It was the best topic ever." Harvey Petitt
"My favourite Japanese lesson was when we got to make our own sushi. It was an amazing experience for me because I had never actually made a bit of food by myself without any help from an expert. Me and my parents loved eating it. Now my parents have started to let me make food by myself." Mason Ketley
"Our topic was about Japan. It was very fun. It was one of the best topics. The things I liked was when the Japanese School came to our school. Most of the Japanese children were very calm. It was a bit difficult to communicate with them but I really did like it." Sireesh Parimi
"I enjoyed learning the story of the crane origami (Sadako Sasaki). I learnt how good Japanese people are at making origami and I really want to be like that. Learning how to make sushi was really fun even though I don't like sushi! Having the Japanese school visit was epic because they told us what they like and what they are good at." Hannah Donald
