We are proud of the school meals that are provided at Moulsham Junior School. They promote healthy eating and are monitored for quality, consistency and adherence to the government’s food standards.
Our meals offer a daily choice of hot cooked dinner or vegetarian option together with a choice of dessert, yoghurt or fresh fruit whilst fresh bread and a salad bar are also available on a daily basis. We are very keen to promote healthy eating and to provide wholesome, enjoyable, home cooked meals for as many of our children as possible. We therefore hope that you will support us in this aim and encourage your child to try our meals if they do not already enjoy them on a regular basis.
We request that you order your child’s meals on a regular basis and that all orders are made online .Meals need to be ordered online at least 2 days before your requested day, for example if you wish to order your child’s meal for a Monday; this will need to be ordered by 11:59pm on Saturday and so on. If this is not possible, please contact the finance office. The system will not allow you to order after the 2 day deadline. If a school meal is requested on the day, for example in morning registration or if a child has forgotten their packed lunch, we will endeavour to provide a meal, however we cannot guarantee that this will be that day’s menu option and it is likely to be a basic meal option (eg pasta). Menus and an online ordering guide are available to download directly from the school website below or paper copies are available from the School Office.
The meal cost is £2.20 and payment should be made via our online payment system. If this is not possible then money should be brought into school in a sealed envelope with your child’s name, class and “dinner money” clearly written on it. Payments should be made for the whole week or, if you wish, you may also pay in advance on a half termly or termly basis. Cheques should be made payable to “Moulsham Junior School”.
For children wishing to bring in their own packed lunches we hope that parents will support our healthy school status by ensuring that children are provided with a healthy, balanced packed lunch. Packed lunches should be in a strong, labelled lunch box and drinks should be in plastic containers or cartons. Cans, glass bottles and fizzy drinks are not permitted. We also ask that packed lunches do not contain any nuts or products with nuts.
