Welcome to Year 4
What an exciting year we have in store. From having a visit from a royal embalmer to designing computer programs; we aim to inspire and create lifelong memories for your children.
The expectations are high and the children will rise to meet them.
Our topics include: Rainforests, Chocolate, A Local Study of Chelmsford and The Ancient Egyptians. Through these, the children will develop a broad range of skills and understanding which can be seen on our curriculum overview.
Each new topic has an entry point that is designed to hook the children, and an exit point as a grand finale. These include trips a visit to Great Notley Country Park to enhance our Science curriculum; a fascinating walk around Chelmsford to deepen the children’s understanding of their local history, and an enterprise project where, after intensive research, children create and market their own chocolates. Competition is fierce in this last project.
However, the highlight of the whole year has to be our three day camping trip to Mersea Island. Here, the children engage in activities that challenge them both physically and mentally. They never fail to astound us with their capacity to respond to these and the year four staff are already anticipating a fabulous residential trip in 2017.
Finally, we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for the partnerships we have already developed in order to support the children of the Moulsham community.
